Lame-Duck Democratic Mayor Says He Ignored Calls From 2-0-2 Number, Ended Up Being Biden

Philadelphia Democratic Mayor Jim Kenny said Saturday that he ignored a call from a number with the 202 area code, but that the call turned out to be from President Joe Biden.

Kenny and Biden respond to a partial collapse of northbound Interstate 95 in Philadelphia on June 11, when a truck loaded with fuel caught fire and exploded under a bridge. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited the site of the collapse on CBS Philadelphia on Tuesday reportpledged to help reopen interstate highways.

Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania announced on Saturday that the highway will reopen in two weeks, FOX News report.

“Traffic will get moving again, thanks to the extraordinary work being done here,” Shapiro said at a press conference.

“As far as I know, there are no more important projects in this country at this time,” Biden said. according to to Fox News. Demolition of the damaged highway was completed days ahead of schedule, Fox News reported.
