The President of the United States is the head of the executive branch of the federal government. His branch's responsibilities include law enforcement. This is why the president takes an oath to “faithfully execute the office of President of the United States” and to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
The Biden administration has completely failed to meet these responsibilities, and nowhere is this more evident than on immigration.
The United States has extensive immigration laws that define immigration standards and procedures for foreign nationals to establish residency and citizenship. It is the constitutional duty of the executive branch to enforce these laws. President Joe Biden has refused to do so.
The predictable result was a flood of illegal immigrants. In 2023 alone, he added nearly 2.5 million people to the United States illegally. (And note that these numbers are actually in the country illegally) do not have This includes people who cross the border without contacting Border Patrol agents. ) More than 10 million people have illegally crossed the border since Biden took office. This number is larger than the individual populations of her 41 states out of 50.
The burden on Americans is enormous and growing.
Last year, the Federation for American Immigration Reform released a comprehensive report showing that federal, state and local spending on illegal immigration is approaching $200 billion annually.
But the dollar numbers don't capture the real cost to ordinary Americans. We don't have enough affordable housing for our people. Veterans and the elderly are being forced from their homes to make way for illegal immigrants. Our nation's homeless population is exploding, and many of them are in need of treatment for addiction and mental illness. In Chicago, immigrants live at O'Hare Airport. Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey urged people to welcome immigrants into their homes. Just this week, New York City high schools were closed and students were sent home for “distance” learning to accommodate nearly 2,000 immigrants in schools during the winter storm.
Illegal immigration also skews representation in Congress. Because they are included in the decennial census population count, their presence increases representation in the legislatures of states with large numbers of them. This reduces the voting power of residents in states with small populations.
Open borders facilitate human trafficking, including child sex trafficking. In 2022 alone, the Department of Homeland Security lost 85,000 unaccompanied children placed with “sponsors.” Last spring, a department whistleblower testified before Congress and warned:[T]The U.S. government has become an intermediary in a massive multibillion-dollar child trafficking operation run by bad actors who seek to profit from the lives of children. ” And illegal drug imports are contributing to record increases in drug overdose deaths in the United States.
Illegal immigration also burdens the criminal justice system. More than 170,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended in this country last year, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement's 2023 Annual Report.almost half already He had a criminal record. On average, his previous prosecutions and convictions are four. A significant number of people have been arrested for drunk driving, many of them resulting in death. Just last week, a Colorado woman and her son were killed in a crash caused by a drunk driver.The driver of the other car is an illegal immigrant who was deported from the United States. four times.
Anyone who can cross the border has access to welfare, subsidized food and housing, free education, and health care. They can even obtain the (illegal) right to vote in elections, but the motive is becoming increasingly clear as the same politicians who support open borders also oppose voter ID and citizen election integrity laws, such as requiring proof of entitlement;
The U.S. House of Representatives is proceeding this week with impeachment proceedings against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. His repeated lies and refusal to enforce immigration laws should make his impeachment and removal a simple matter. But Mayorkas is just a tool. The real problem is not with him, but with his boss. Impeaching Biden is too late and probably pointless. And in any case, these policies did not originate with Biden. Refusal to enforce immigration laws was the brainchild of former President Barack Obama, who sought to use open borders and unrestricted immigration as a vehicle for massive wealth transfers from Americans to poor people in other countries. (Related: Jenny Beth Martin: Alejandro Mayorkas is finally getting a taste of accountability)
It now appears to be the framework of the Democratic Party's platform.
The United States cannot afford another four years of open border Democratic administration. In 2024, we must elect a president who is committed to the integrity of our Constitution, enforcing our immigration laws, and protecting our citizens and legal residents.
The survival of a free and prosperous United States depends on it.
