The Ministry of Education (ED) budget has increased significantly over the years with millions focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs and overseeing educational programs.
Ed spent more than that $250 billion In 2024 alone, “explosive growth” increased 749% from 2000, according to an upcoming report from Open The Books. Meanwhile, the multi-million dollar grants were directed at funding equitable schools overseas, in addition to promoting “racial equality” and gender ideology in schools.
American students have been lagging rapidly in recent years, with test scores reaching some of the lowest recorded US levels ever recorded in the US and failing to reach the national reading assessment benchmark in 2024.

Ohio State University was awarded $475,000 The aim is to add “at least 50 tenure-track teachers to topics such as “climate, race, place” and “racial equality” in 2022.
The report also found that at least $2.8 million from the ED was directed towards Chinese education programs. This includes a $1.6 million grant to real estate broker companies. The grant “is intended to help local educational institutions improve education and learning, especially in poverty schools, and to help them fail or at risk to meet particularly challenging state academic performance standards. President Donald Trump has already cut wasteful spending in the education sector, cancelled DEI grants and officially ordered the division to be demolished. Almost half of the department’s staff were cut in early March, with some of the programs moving to other departments, including student loan monitoring and special needs programs.
Former President Joe Biden’s education plan included pouring millions of taxpayer funds into schools on topics such as “LGBTQ inclusion” and “anti-racism and anti-attack.” Over $100 million in grants have been sent to universities aimed at training K-12 social workers with critical racial theory, social justice, and DEI.
