A popular Alabama pickle company has been acquired by one of the Southeast's leading consumer goods investment companies.

Fenwick Food Group, a division of Fenwick Brands, Inc., officially acquired Wickles Pickles on November 29th. The business will be headquartered in Birmingham.

Fenwick also owns another Alabama-based brand, Moore's Marinade & Sauce. The brand's rapid success and growth reportedly helped him convince Wickles Pickles' founders that the acquisition was in the company's best interest.

Baker elaborated on the strategy.

“Our long-term strategy is to curate a food platform with a small number of brands that can benefit from shared teams, investments and operational synergies,” she said. “Scaling up is becoming increasingly difficult and expensive, and we want to help similar brands with strong consumer demand stay viable.”

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Wickles Pickles was founded in 1998 in Dadeville, Alabama by brothers Will and Trey Sims and Andy Anderson.
