‘Make Our Skies Safe Again’: Trump Picks Former Insurance And Housing Chair As Transportation Secretary

President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he will nominate Fox Business host and former Republican Wisconsin congressman Sean Duffy to be U.S. secretary of transportation.

Duffy is a Fox News contributor and co-host of Fox Business’ “The Bottom Line.” provided He served in the House of Representatives for nine years before moving into media. President Trump released a statement to Truth Social about Duffy’s selection, saying, “We will prioritize excellence, competency, competitiveness, and beauty as we rebuild America’s highways, tunnels, bridges, and airports.” Ta. “Sean is a highly sought-after public servant who began his career as a district attorney in Ashland, Wisconsin, and was later elected to the House of Representatives in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District,” Trump wrote. “It will ensure our ports and dams serve the economy without compromising national security, and it will make our skies safe again by eliminating DEI for pilots and air traffic controllers.”

Mr. Duffy served in Congress from 2011 to 2019, representing the residents of Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, the largest district in the state. The former congressman served on several committees during his tenure, including as a member of the House Financial Services Committee, chairman of the Insurance and Housing Subcommittee, and chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.

The Fox Business co-host also served as District Attorney for Ashland County, Wisconsin, where he dedicated his time and resources to fighting child sex crimes. According to On Fox News. At the time, the newspaper reported that Duffy worked with law enforcement, ultimately leading Ashland County to become one of the first counties in Wisconsin to investigate and prosecute child internet sex crimes.

Duffy is married to “FOX & Friends Weekend” co-host Rachel Campos Duffy. They have nine children and co-authored a book in 2021.
