The Daily Signal reports that a Colorado web designer whose First Amendment claim won in a recent Supreme Court case faces death threats.
The Supreme Court ruled 6 to 3 in 303 Creative v. Ellenis that the Colorado antidiscrimination statute cannot compel Laurie Smith to create a website for same-sex marriage. Ms. Smith is hesitant to let her daughter play alone in her front yard because of the threats she faces. Said Daily Signal. “Many of the threats allude to the fact that people know my home address and post it on social media to encourage others to send hateful messages,” she said. “It’s coming from every angle: phone calls, emails, mail, websites, social media.”
Despite the threats, Smith said he wasn’t worried, according to the Daily Signal.
“God is a good God and has protected us for the past seven years,” she said.
