On the afternoon of Friday, January 20, the Tucson Police Department’s Homicide Division was informed that a suspected murderer, Trevontea Howard Brown, was found in northern Iowa and arrested.
TPD officers asked the public for help in finding Howard Brown shortly after obtaining an arrest warrant for him in May 2022.
After being unable to locate Howard Brown, the U.S. Marshals Service was contacted and asked to join the search.
The U.S. Marshals Service has found information pointing to a possible location in northern Iowa.
Members of the Charles City Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service found Howard Brown at the residence early on January 20.
After temporarily hiding in the house, Howard Brown was eventually taken into custody without incident.
He was transferred and booked to Floyd County Jail for first-degree murder and first-degree attempted murder warrants. He is currently awaiting extradition to Arizona.

The US Marshals Service and the City of Charles Police have arrested 24-year-old Trevontea Tyron Howard-Brown, who was wanted for felony murder.
Charles City Police say Howard Brown had an outstanding murder warrant outside Pima County.
He was found near a locked down school in Iowa.
According to the CCPD, Howard Brown is being held in Floyd County Jail on a $1 million bond.
