A man was arrested following a deadly UTV accident in Yavapai County that claimed the life of a 49-year-old passenger.

In Yavapai County, Arizona, officials have reported the arrest in relation to this tragic incident. On August 22, around 10:30 PM, deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call regarding the UTV crash. The vehicle, it seems, had rolled about 50 feet down a slope near Antelope Creek Road.

When emergency responders got to the location, they discovered a passenger trapped beneath the overturned UTV. They attempted to provide aid while waiting for medical teams to arrive. Sadly, despite their efforts, the passenger later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Flagstaff.

As the deputies began their investigation, they encountered conflicting information about who was driving the UTV. Further inquiries indicated a suspect and revealed evidence pointing to alleged intoxication.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Surprise, was ultimately arrested on charges of DUI, as well as for providing false statements and resisting law enforcement.
