The Irishman of the Freeman era has improved over the years and is now being rewarded for his efforts.

The extension makes Freeman one of the highest-paid coaches in college football.
“I appreciate the board’s support,” Freeman said in an official statement released by ND’s athletic department. “The investment they continue to put into our program is invaluable to our student-athletes and staff. They ensure every aspect of our program is competitive within the upper echelons of college football. This commitment is far beyond me, as I am dedicated to doing so.”

Marcus Freeman absolutely deserves this contract extension, look. steady progress That led him to a 30-9 overall record as an Irishman and a playoff berth this season.

- 2024: 11-1
At this point, if I’m a Fighting Irish fan, I’m pretty confident that Marcus Freeman will bring South Bend a national championship and, more importantly, fully restore it to its past glory.
