Maricopa County purchased a Phoenix office building for $11.3 million.

Cushman & Wakefield brokered the sale of Elevate at Dunlap, a four-story, 93,661-square-foot single-tenant office building located at 2233 Dunlap Street. The center was unoccupied at the time of the sale.

The property was acquired by Maricopa County and the seller is D23, LLC, an Arizona limited liability company with offices in Phoenix at 2555 E. Camelback Road, Suite 400, according to Cushman & Wakefield.

“Maricopa County acquired this facility for regional public health functions to further strengthen efforts within the county. We are excited and understand that this is essential to the revitalization of the Metro Center submarket,” said Michael Kitlica, senior director at Cushman & Wakefield.

The Dunlap Elevator was built in 1988, but underwent a multi-million dollar renovation several years ago. The property sits on more than six acres, features a two-story parking garage, and is also located across from the Dunlap Avenue light rail stop.

The location is surrounded by several major office tenants in addition to the long-awaited multi-billion dollar renovation of the former Metro Center Mall.
