Maricopa County health inspector catches employee with cut finger cooking food

Phoenix (3TV/CBS 5)Every week, an Arizona family inspects a restaurant recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Department of Environmental Services. Restaurants with the highest number of “risk factors” deemed by inspectors to be serious health code violations are selected for the Dirty Dining Report. Below are the restaurants in the Valley that did not perform well on January 11, 2023.

McDonald’s – 1948 E. McKellips Road, Mesa

3 violations

  • Cut finger employee preparing food without gloves
  • Workers who do not wash their hands after touching raw food and can eat it immediately

usa eggs – 402 E. Greenway Parkway, Phoenix

3 violations

  • Employees handle dirty dishes and clean dishes without washing
  • A plate of raw eggs preserved on top of ready-to-eat cheese

thai basil – 4929 W. Chandler Blvd, Chandler

3 violations

  • Employee touched face and then continued cooking
  • Bucket stored in hand washing sink

Desert Mountain Golf Club – 11124 E. Prospect Point Drive, Scottsdale

  • Foods that don’t wash hands properly
  • Chicken and onions past the disposal date
  • Leafy greens and tomatoes not kept at the proper temperature

Dean’s List – Valet restaurant with perfect health check score

burger king – 5841 W. Thunderbird Road, Glendale

Hampton Inn and Suites – 2000 N. Litchfield Road, Goodyear

Charleston’s Restaurant – 1623 S. Stapley Drive, Mesa

flower child – 100 E. Camelback Road, Phoenix

McDonald’s – 1785 E. University Drive, Tempe

salad dango – 1585 N. Dysart Road, Avondale
