Maricopa County joins national pet adoption, donation campaign

Maricopa County Animal Care & Control is part of a national pet adoption and donation initiative that has found homes for more than 1 million pets since its inception in 2015.

clear the shelter This is an NBCUniversal Local campaign that will run through September 10, according to a release.

MCACC will be participating in this initiative from September 7th to 8th, waiving fees for all dogs over 6 months of age.

“We are thrilled and grateful to be part of the ‘Clear The Shelters’ campaign and partner with NBCUniversal and Telemundo for the 10th year in a row,” said Kim Powell, MCACC Director of Communications.

“We are currently over capacity at our East and West shelters and we are confident that our ‘Clear the Shelters’ event will help combat this issue and help many dogs find their forever homes. ”

Those interested in adopting a pet can visit MCACC’s East and West shelters at 2500 S. 27th St. in Phoenix and 1920 S. Lewis in Mesa.

Both shelters are open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m. on the weekend. All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip, and age-appropriate vaccinations.
