Phoenix (AZ Family) A Phoenix judge has died after suffering a heart attack while on vacation, the Maricopa County Court announced Wednesday.
Magistrate Judge Frank J. Conti He died suddenly during his stay Banff, CanadaAlberta resort town, Alberta. He was 61 years old.
“We all knew we could count on Frank whenever we needed him, and his leadership in the courtroom was outstanding,” Magistrate Judge Anna Huberman said in a news release. “This is a terrible tragedy not only for his family back home, but also for his family in the courtroom.”
Conti has been licensed as an attorney in Arizona since 1990. Dreamy Draw Justice Precinct He became mayor of North Phoenix in 2008. He was re-elected three times and won unopposed in the next general election.
Judge Contee is survived by two sons. Funeral arrangements are pending.
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors will consider procedures to replace Judge Contee in the coming weeks, court officials said. A temporary judge will be in charge of the court in the meantime.
