Maricopa County parks reintroduce autumn camping offer

With fall approaching, the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department is reintroducing a popular camp promotion specifically for local residents. This “Buy One, Get One” offer encourages residents to check out the county’s parks before the busy winter months.

Originally started in 2008, this initiative has previously included non-residents, but this year it’s focused solely on Maricopa County residents. The program kicks off on September 18th, allowing residents who book more than one night at participating Desert Mountain Park to enjoy a free or discounted night during their stay. The offer runs through October 31st.

“We’re thrilled to invite our fellow residents to rediscover the stunning natural landscapes our parks offer,” commented Thomas Galvin, chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. “Our parks showcase some of the most incredible views of the Sonoran Desert.”

Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Waller mentioned that this return to resident-focused programming is a positive step.
