Phoenix (3TV/CBS 5) — Former Republican candidate for Arizona Secretary of State Mark Finkem filed an appeal Wednesday after Maricopa County The judge dismissed the lawsuit challenging the election resultsThe lawsuit was dismissed on December 16 by Judge Melissa Iyer Julian, who also confirmed that Adrian Fontes won the election and is a secretary from Arizona.
In the lawsuit, Finchem alleges that current Secretary of State Katie Hobbs threatened criminal charges if the Mohave and Cochise county oversight boards did not certify the election. The Secretary of State’s office said she filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit on Dec. 15, calling the allegations “baseless” and “sanctionable.”
