Journalist Mark Halperin clashed with Vice President Kamala Harris’ supporter David over whether it was fair to question her about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity.
Harris appeared on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Bayer.” beginning Official interview on the network, host Brett Baier pressed We spoke to her about her insights into Biden’s cognitive abilities. About David and Halperin’s 2WAY platformargued that Mr. Baier’s question was one of several examples of “gotchas” in interviews, but Mr. Halperin disagreed. “The next awkward moment was him talking about Biden’s cognitive status,” David said. “Look, we all know she had her own personal opinion. The chances of her giving her own personal opinion about where he was are minimal. That’s another awkward moment.”
David began to give another example, but Halperin interrupted him.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, in what I just had to say, there’s an issue of accountability and integrity and the American people’s trust in her judgment,” Halperin said. “I don’t think it’s a difficult moment or a difficult question to have her explain what she knows, when she knew it, and how she felt about it.”
“But to be fair to her, she did, but she had no first-hand knowledge of the facts. She probably had her own suspicions,” David replied. Ta.
Halperin forgets that when Biden publicly called on the late Republican Indiana congresswoman Jackie Walorski to stand in September 2022, Harris died in a car crash the month before. He pointed out that he had the opportunity to watch from the sidelines.
“So she didn’t need inside knowledge to have an opinion about whether he suffered from the kind of cognitive decline that tens of millions of Americans without inside knowledge see in themselves. . She had inside knowledge because she met him regularly, ”said the journalist.
David stammered, insisting that “we have moved beyond this” and suggesting that “an attempt to put her on live TV and criticize him” was absurd.
“You moved out. I agree that it’s unlikely she would, but you walked away from there. But for tens of millions of Americans, the Oval Office has a cognitive deficit. There’s a man who was forced to continue running for president because of the decline, and a vice president who, like everyone else in the administration, sat on the sidelines while they watched what was going on.” said Halperin. “So I don’t think it’s a thorny question because she has the right not to answer. But I don’t think it’s a thorny question.”
When Bayer asked When Harris noticed that Biden’s “mental capacity” was clearly declining, the vice president praised his “judgment” and “experience.” When the Fox News host confronted her again, she said, “Joe Biden is not on the ballot,” and pivoted to attacking former President Donald Trump.
Biden’s cognitive abilities came under widespread scrutiny after his poor performance in the June 27 debate against Trump.
