Marshall submits a statement in favor of Trump’s use of the National Guard to address the LA riots.

Alabama AG Supports Trump’s National Guard Deployment Amid LA Riots

Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall has voiced his support for President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard in response to the unrest in Los Angeles. This action was taken after local law enforcement faced significant challenges from illegal immigrants and their advocates.

Marshall emphasized the importance of peaceful protest in American democracy but clarified that destructive behaviors such as arson and violence cross a line. “These are not forms of expression; they are violent crimes,” he stated. He criticized California leaders for yielding to aggressive activists, asserting that Trump’s intervention was a constitutional move aimed at restoring order.

The Attorney General expressed gratitude towards Trump for championing the rule of law, particularly as other officials seemed to give in to chaos.

“We stand with the dedicated law enforcement personnel who maintain the boundaries between civilization and disorder,” he remarked. “Thank you, President Trump, for prioritizing law and for backing those who safeguard our communities daily.”

Marshall’s outline highlights the confusion and violence triggered by the riots, mentioning the LAPD’s calls for help as buildings were left damaged and chaotic.

The brief further argues that Trump acted well within his constitutional rights by mobilizing the National Guard to assist federal agents in safeguarding the rule of law, especially considering that local authorities had already called for federal assistance in the region.

Alabama is among 19 states, including Florida and Texas, that have submitted similar support briefs.
