Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massey announced that his campaign had scored more than six people last week, despite President Donald Trump’s vows to support a major challenge to him.
Massy’s campaign reported Thursday raising $177,394 after facing repeated public criticism from Trump x. After Trump’s recent Iranian strike and overthrowing the president’s party leader who wiped out the president’s budget bill, Massey has faced immense criticism from the president, but these attacks seemed to mobilize donors who view him as pressured by outsiders.

The American Israeli Public Relations Committee (AIPAC) is also trying to overthrow lawmakers. Massey was also one of two Republicans who voted against Trump’s “one big, beautiful bill,” citing concerns about the impact the bill will have on the US deficit. Massy, widely regarded as a fiscal hawk, called the bill “carves debt bombs.”
