YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – There are two candidates running for Yuma County Treasurer position, including the incumbent.
Yuma County Recorder Angela Pankraj Moreno is running to retain her seat, while Republican candidate David Alexandre is also looking to win the seat.
Incumbent Angela Pankraj Moreno, a native of Yuma, is the current Treasurer of Yuma County.
She says her experience as chief investment officer, director of the Arizona Association of Counties, and finance director on the board of directors of the National Association of County Collector, Treasurer, and Treasurer prepared her for this position.
“As Chief Investment Officer, I helped generate millions of dollars in investments for the county, thereby reducing the burden on taxpayers while improving the services the county provides,” Pankratsi said. Moreno said.
Meanwhile, Republican candidate David Alexander, a blue-collar worker born and raised in Yuma, says he is prepared to run because of his economic background working on city contracts.
He has also worked on a multi-million dollar contract with Arizona State, he said.
“The public pays taxes. They want to know where their money is being spent. They want to know it's safe. They want their questions answered. “We want to make sure that all our staff have the proper training. They have all the tools they need to answer the public's questions.” spoke.
They both share what they accomplish in their positions.
“I want to continue to protect taxpayer dollars, be transparent and actively engage the communities Yuma County represents on the state and national level,” said Angela Pankraj Moreno. said.
