Megyn Kelly States She Won’t Be the ‘CNN Of Trump 2.0’ Amid Epstein Turmoil, Urges Journalists to Seek the Truth

Megyn Kelly Rejects Comparison of Trump Administration to CNN

On Tuesday, Megyn Kelly, speaking on SiriusXM, stated that she does not want to become “Trump 2.0 CNN” regarding the “Epstein Files.” She emphasized that journalists have a duty to question politicians rather than just trust them blindly.

Since early July, the Trump administration has faced criticism from within its ranks, with some Republican members discreetly releasing information about the Department of Justice’s investigation into the FBI and the late Jeffrey Epstein. During her show, Kelly mentioned that certain Republicans have shifted their focus away from these matters following President Trump’s attempts to move on.

“I have many friends in the administration, and I respect this president,” Kelly remarked. “But my role is in journalism, and while it’s important to have trust, verification is crucial. I refuse to fall into the trap of a ‘Trump 2.0 CNN.’

Kelly further noted, “It’s not just about the Trump administration—it’s my responsibility as a journalist to remain skeptical. That’s my job: to dig deeper into every story, especially those presented by officials.” She emphasized the importance of a balance between trust and suspicion.

Key figures among Trump supporters, like Charlie Kirk and Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, have called for transparency regarding the remaining documents related to Epstein. They insist that the public deserves clarity.

In a memo obtained by Axios, the DOJ stated that the FBI found no “client list” linked to Epstein and determined there was no foul play in his death. However, doubts persist about the absence of video evidence from that time.

During a press briefing, when reporters sought to question Bondi about Epstein, Trump interjected, inquiring if the media was still discussing Epstein, instead steering the conversation toward a recent disaster in Texas. Bondi later explained that the missing footage was due to the Corrections Center’s cameras resetting nightly.

Kelly expressed a desire to uncover the truth behind various questions surrounding Epstein, noting that she isn’t trying to gain fame from the case; rather, she aspires to find answers. She pointed out that figures like CNN’s Jake Tapper have previously raised concerns about President Biden’s mental fitness.

Although Republicans voiced concerns about Biden’s mental state before the 2020 election, these were largely dismissed by Democrats. Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre referred to related videos as “cheap fakes.”

Experts in media, like Tapper, have defended Biden, often curtailing discussions about his mental acuity. Kelly remarked, “We need to investigate what’s true. I sense that some people fear revealing uncomfortable truths about Trump. But I don’t think that would undermine him.” She added that her role is not to shield Trump, similar to how some media outlets may favor Democrats.

“I’m not here to promote a narrative,” Kelly concluded. “I simply want to fulfill my responsibility as a journalist, focusing on honesty and integrity rather than being part of the media circus.”

As Trump defended Attorney General Bondi, he once again praised her handling of Epstein’s case and suggested she should be trusted when it comes to her opinions on the matter.
