MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski quickly corrected New York University professor Scott Galloway’s claim that President-elect Donald Trump is a “rapist” on his Wednesday segment on “Morning Joe.”
Galloway said that in a May 2023 trial, a jury found the current president liable for the sexual assault and defamation of former Elle magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll. Relatedly, he falsely accused Trump of being a “rapist.” Jurors in January awarded Carroll $83.3 million in damages, including $65 million in punitive damages and $18.3 million in compensatory damages.
After Mr. Galloway’s remarks, Mr. Brzezinski quickly clarified that Mr. Trump was not held responsible for the rape, but that his responsibility was officially called “sexual abuse.”
“They’re targeting wealthy people,” Galloway said. “We are in the midst of a series of mini-revolutions to correct income inequality, and the reason we have brought rebels and rapists to power is that for the first time in the history of this country, a 30-year-old man or Because women aren’t doing as well as their parents were when they were 30.
