LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – Detectives from the Mojave County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a murder at Block 5300 Willow Road. last week.

Dispatch received a call from someone at around 8:53 p.m. on June 1, saying that a neighbor had “visible gunshot wounds,” the agency said in a statement. The male subject claimed to have been shot by his brother after a verbal altercation.

The man said he returned the gun, hit his brother, and then fled to a neighbor’s house. Police officers arrived on the scene and then turned the investigation over to detectives.

The body has been taken to the Mojave County Coroner’s Office, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death. The other person involved in the shooting was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The identity of the deceased man will not be made public until his next of kin are notified. Investigation is ongoing.
