Foundation work will be done this week for this year’s Mojave County Fair. Officials are considering new entry fees at the event and possible contracts with carnival services.
The Mojave County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote next week on a potential new fee at this year’s Mojave County Fair and a continued deal with Mesa-based carnival service provider Brown’s Amusements.
Under a fee proposal by Mojave County Public Works Commissioner Stephen Latsky, admission fees to exhibits at the fair may be removed, but admission fees for the fair itself may be raised slightly. Parking fees for events can also be eliminated, and outdoor sales rates may be reduced.
Latoski said a new proposed tariff for this year’s fair could allow for faster parking, lead to more exhibition visits by the public, and potentially increase public participation. I have.
Admission to the event remains unchanged at $5 per child under 12 and free for children under 4. Under the new tariff proposal, adult admission will increase from $10 per person in 2022 to $12 per person in September. Admission for seniors and veterans will also increase from $5 to $6 per person.
The offer offers all visitors a $5 admission fee on the Sunday of the event. With this, Latsky hopes to provide a more affordable option for county residents.
County supervisors will consider potential fee changes next week, while the county governing board will also consider continuing the existing contract with Brown’s Amusements. For years, the company has provided rest areas in the middle of the fair, shaded tents and benches. The company also provides its own staff to oversee safety and power the company’s top attractions such as Tilt-A-Whirl, Haunted House, Mirror Maze, and 60-Foot Gondola Wheel.
Brown’s Amusements serves 10 of Arizona’s 15 counties year-round. The company finally renewed its contract to serve at the 2022 Mojave County Fair.
The Mojave County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote Tuesday on whether to approve the new tariff at its board’s next meeting in Kingman, as well as the carnival services at the Mojave County Fair in September.
