Moonshot Rural Pitch Competition Returns to Yavapai County

Yavapai College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Moonshot are excited to announce the larger and better Moonshot Rural Arizona Pitch Competition for 2025.

We encourage veteran founders looking to expand everything to participate.

This competition is a great way to complete your pitch, build confidence, access capital, network with other founders, and prepare you for future growth.

As a six-year partner in the event series, Ruth Ellen Elinsski, centre director of Yabapai College SBDC, has seen Moonshot participants contribute to long-term economic impacts. Monumental changes to these founders. As a result, they are undoubtedly stronger business owners. Whether they bring the top prize home or not, it is a very valuable experience. ”

At previous competitions, two Yabapai County-based companies have received the top prize of $10,000. Elaine O’Connor, owner of Prescott Burke in 2022, and Katie Dufort, owner of Puzzle Ride Prescott in 2024, will work closely with SBDC to help future scalability, job creation and financial stability. Demonstrate, win a panel of judges and win first place overall.

In 2025, Moonshot is expanding its pitch tour to 20 communities in rural Arizona.

Yavapai College SBDC will work with entrepreneurs to support pitch events at Wickenburg (4/17), Quad Cities (4/24), and Verde Valley (5/15).

Participants will receive opportunities for coaching, training, business education and pitch practice from Yavapai College SBDC’s professional team of certified business analysts. Each participant will receive costs, confidential coaching and mentorship, and is still ongoing after the pitch tour is over. The final state competition will take place in Prescott on October 18th, 2025.

Local prize packages for the top three winners of each community will be possible through local sponsors, including title sponsorships from the Desert Financial Credit Union and several local businesses and community partners.
