Yavapai County, Arizona — A man was reportedly taken into custody after being found with more than 50 pounds of fentanyl and methamphetamine in his car on Interstate 17 in Yavapai County.
On June 5, police officers stopped a driver on Interstate 17 northbound near Anthem for movement and equipment violations, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Omar C. Arias, reportedly drove off and a chase began.
Arias was later stopped in Yavapai County and taken into custody without incident.
When police searched the vehicle, they found about 55 pounds of fentanyl tablets and more than two pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside.

DPS believes Arias was transporting drugs from the Valley to Denver, Colorado.
Arias was incarcerated in the Yavapai County Jail on charges of fleeing police, possessing and transporting drugs and dangerous drugs, and possessing drug paraphernalia.
