Mountain lion exhibit opening at Pinal County Historical Museum

A new exhibit is about to open at the Pinal County Historical Museum in Florence.

The museum will host the grand opening of the “Mountain Lions and Natural History” exhibit on Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 am at 715 South Main Street. Rocks, minerals, fossils.

During the event, Arizona Game and Fish Terrestrial Wildlife Program Manager Matt Padilla will provide insight into Arizona’s mountain lions. The Grand Opening will also include light refreshments, children’s activities and a special speaker.

PCHM Executive Director Stephanie Joyner said in a press release:

At the grand opening, the official name of the puma on display will be announced. The names are culled from suggestions from the public.

All PCHM members are invited to a special members-only preview, one hour before the exhibit opens to the general public on April 29th. The preview includes behind-the-scenes stories of how the exhibit was created.

PCHM is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11am to 4pm. Admission is free for children 18 and under.

Established in 1958, PCHM is the oldest organization in Pinal County. The museum preserves the history of Florence and Pinal County through exhibits and educational programs.
