Cottonwood, Arizona – Air Methods announced the opening of a new Native Air emergency medical services location in Cottonwood, Arizona. The opening of Native Air 83 will serve Yavapai County and beyond.
Native Air 83 sits on a sprawling property on the Verde River at Cottonwood Airport. Native Air 83 joins existing Air Stations Native 4, 14 and 7 serving Yavapai, Coconino and Gila counties to expand critical care in the region. Native Air provides 24/7 community critical care, responding to emergency medical requests for traumatic events including heart attacks, strokes, pediatric emergencies, burns and other accidents. In addition, the team provides critical inter-facility transportation when patients need to travel between hospitals for specialized care.
Native Air 83 is equipped with Bell 407 aircraft and industry-leading facilities and medical equipment. The aircraft and crew are highly skilled in high-altitude flight, making them suitable for flying into mountainous and rural areas. Native Air crew members are Board Certified Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) certified and carry essential tools, medicines and supplies needed to provide ICU-level care during the flight.
“Having blood available for field visits is an invaluable resource for our community,” said Account Executive Janet Hovey. “Patients may have better outcomes with this tool. I can really help you.”
