Navajo County K-9 leads to arrest near Heber/Overgaard | News

HOLBROOK, Ariz. – The Navajo County Criminal Interdiction Unit arrested two Mexican nationals following a traffic stop on State Highway 260 on May 21.

Deputies stopped the vehicle near milepost 305 in the Heber/Overgaard area and police dog Kilo was deployed on alert. A search of the vehicle uncovered more than 22,600 pills suspected to be M30 fentanyl, approximately four grams of cocaine, and a firearm.

After the illegal drugs were discovered, suspects Roldolfo Yepes Sanchez, 31, and Kevin Roberto Cardenas Sierra, 26, both from Mexico, were arrested on numerous felony charges.

The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $113,600. Yepes-Sanchez was booked into the NCSO Jail on suspicion of drug transportation, drug possession with intent to sell and drug possession. Cardenas-Sierra was booked into the NCSO Jail on suspicion of drug transportation, drug possession with intent to sell, drug possession and firearm possession. Both are being held on $10,000 cash bail each and in Immigration and Customs custody.
