New Yavapai County Chief Adult Probation Officer Appointed

Chief Judge John Knapper and Deputy Chief Judge Christa Kerman elected Brian Prieto as Yavapai County Adult Probation Officer, effective October 17, 2022, to fill the position vacant following the retirement of Commissioner John Morris. I’m proud of you.

Chief Adult Probation, Adult Probation Office, Yavapai County Court, Bryan PietroPrieto is from Orange County, California. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine, and then graduated with honors from Touro University International in Cypress, California, where he earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Criminal Justice Management.

Mr. Prieto’s professional experience includes over 30 years with the Orange County Probation Department. He began his probation career as Probation Knight His Counselor (now known as the Deputy Juvenile Correctional Officer) and has held various positions of increasing responsibility. His most recent position was Assistant Chief Probation Officer from October 2019 until March 2022, after being appointed Interim Chief Probation Officer until July 28, 2022.

Judges Napper and Carman selected Mr. Prieto after interviewing three qualified candidates sent by the selection committee. Judge Carman, chairman of the selection committee, said: Brian brings a passion to his work coupled with his years of experience. He is confident that Brian will lead our probation department well. ”

Prieto said: He looks forward to serving the court and the Yavapai County community and building on the excellent work already established by Commissioner Morris and the staff of the Yavapai County Adult Protection Agency. ”
