News Flash • Coconino County Plows & Facilities Respond to F

Coconino County is preparing for the first snowstorm of 2024. The first snowstorm is expected to hit northern Arizona late Wednesday and continue into Thursday.

Public works crews are working through the night to keep county roads open and passable during the storm, and facilities management teams are preparing county buildings for cold and icy conditions.

Stronger snowstorms and increased snowfall amounts are expected in the region starting early Sunday morning, the National Weather Service said.

The storm is already creating dangerous driving conditions as roads become slippery and snow-covered, resulting in periods of reduced visibility. Travel delays are expected in the mountainous region and drivers are advised to plan their trip accordingly or delay their trip if necessary. Very cold and potentially dangerous temperatures are expected after this storm.
