Navajo County Flood Update:

Navajo County experienced severe flooding during the night and some areas were ordered to evacuate. All residents of the Silver Creek drainage basin from Shamway to Taylor to Snowflake were asked to evacuate Saturday night as a strong monsoon storm moved through the area. Many roads in flooded areas are closed or impassable. Emergency managers are asking the public to remain vigilant and not to cross flooded roads or enter flooded streams, creeks or wash stations.
According to the National Weather Service, much of central and northern Arizona will remain under flood monitoring until midnight tonight.

At this time, county officials say they cannot accept small animals due to limited resources, but will reassess the situation soon.
