‘Not MAGA’: Donald Trump Directly Attacks Vivek Ramaswamy

Republican front-runner Donald Trump directly attacked Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy on social media Saturday night.

President Trump directly criticized Ramaswamy for the first time in a post on Truth Social, saying the Republican candidate is “not a MAGA.”

“Mr. Vivek started his campaign as a great advocate, such as 'The Greatest President of All Time.' Unfortunately, what he is doing now is disguising his support in the form of deceptive campaign tricks. Only,” President Trump wrote. “It's very sneaky, but a vote for Vivek is a vote for the 'opposite' side. Don't be fooled by this.”

“Vote for 'TRUMP'. Don't waste your vote! Vivek is not MAGA,” President Trump wrote. “Prosecutions against Biden's political opponents will never be tolerated in this country and are already starting to go down! MAGA!!!”

Many believe Ramaswamy is poised to become vice president, given his ardent support of former President Trump and his refusal to criticize him. Ramaswamy filed a court brief Thursday supporting Trump's proposal to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court's decision to remove Trump from the state's 2024 election ballot. Ramaswamy responded to Trump's attack in a video posted to X on Saturday evening. He urged his supporters to “open their eyes” to the uphill battle Trump faces, writing: “This system will stop at nothing to keep this man from the White House.”

“They want to narrow it down to a two-horse race between Donald Trump and Nikki Haley, who is a puppet that they can control,” Ramaswamy said. “And they want to get rid of Donald Trump this spring or whenever it comes and put their puppet in the White House.”

“It's hiding in plain sight. We're not going to look back in a year and say, 'Oh, I was shocked that that happened.' In a year's time, we will look back and say, “Why didn't we know this was happening when all the clues were hidden in plain sight?'' Ramaswamy said.

Ramaswamy currently holds a 4.1% approval rating in national Republican primary polls, and 6.8% in Iowa. according to Go to RealClearPolitics.
