‘Participants In The Biggest Coverup’: CNN Commentator Rips ‘Complicit’ Dem Govs Backing Biden Despite Mental Concerns

CNN commentator Scott Jennings on Wednesday slammed Democratic governors who have endorsed President Joe Biden despite concerns about his mental health, saying they are “complicit” in the “biggest cover-up.”

Jennings appeared on “Laura Coates Live” to discuss Democrats' calls for Biden to withdraw from the party's nomination following Biden's poor performance in the debate. After Jennings pointed to Biden's family and noted his limited support, CNN host Laura Coates interjected, pointing out that 23 Democratic governors came together to endorse Joe Biden at the White House on Wednesday.

“Once again, Joe Biden is riding a unicycle and juggling knives behind closed doors. Looking so cool behind closed doors! We've been hearing this for three and a half years. The governors are now complicit in the greatest cover-up in the history of American politics. Joe Biden's condition has been hidden for three and a half years and now the governors are complicit. We saw it with our own eyes Thursday night. We don't need the governors to tell us behind closed doors that he's fine. I saw what I saw and so does every other American,” Jennings said.

Just before responding to the governors' endorsements, Jennings commented on the Trump campaign's silence on the matter, saying, “That's exactly what they should be doing.” (Related story: 'The dam has broken': Democratic donor says Biden has 'little left' support, claims he could drop out within days)

“They're doing exactly what they need to do, which is do nothing. He's running a campaign. Of his three campaigns, this one is the best managed, the best run and it's clear he wants to win. His behavior in the debates, his response over the last few weeks. Remember, from the New York conviction until now was the strongest period of Donald Trump's campaign,” Jennings said.

“He's got a cash infusion and he's pretty high in the polls — the polls you showed tonight. So if he wins the national popular vote by five or six points, the House will be a bye-bye for the Democrats, Joe Biden will take down seven Senate seats, and if these polls hold up, we'll win in a landslide. So Donald Trump is doing exactly what needs to be done. There's not much more I can say other than to listen to Julie begging the White House to do something. Just one thing: they [Democrats] “We don't have a messaging problem, we have a candidate problem.”

“Most Democrats seem to know about it, but the only people who don't seem to know about it are the Biden family. Jill Biden has been on the cover of Vogue and Hunter Biden seems to currently run the White House senior staff meetings. So, Julie, I'm sorry, but it seems to me that we're going to have to grab these people by their toes and drag them out of the White House,” Jennings said.

Democratic governors across the U.S. endorse Biden which one They are expected to discuss the ongoing turmoil within their party in person at the White House or via a conference call on Wednesday, amid growing concerns about Biden's mental state since last week's debate with former President Donald Trump.

A CBS/YouGov poll conducted after the debate found that 72% of Americans believe Biden does not have the mental or cognitive health to serve as president, but support for pushing him forward as the nominee remains strong.

After the meeting, New York Governor Kathy Hockle, Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz told reporters: Outside The White House acknowledged that Biden “performed poorly” in the debate but said it still supported Biden because it believed he was “qualified” to serve another four years in office.
