The Alabama Petroleum and Convenience Marketers Association (P&CMA) has announced its support for the re-election of two key leaders in the state legislature: Nathaniel Ledbetter, the Speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives, and Garlan Gudger, the Speaker Pro Tempore of the Senate.
This endorsement highlights their enduring support for small businesses, energy independence, and policies that promote economic growth in Alabama.
P&CMA represents more than 1,200 member locations throughout the state. The organization champions initiatives to bolster Alabama’s oil and convenience store sectors, backed by 200 oil distributors and convenience store operators who employ numerous people and cater to local communities.
P&CMA characterized Ledbetter (R-Rainsville) as a staunch supporter of economic development and workforce enhancement. They acknowledged his commitment to policies that enhance the oil and convenience sectors’ competitiveness and adaptability.
Rex Jones, the Chairman of the P&CMA Board, noted, “Speaker Ledbetter has established a strong connection with Alabama’s Petroleum and Convenience Marketers, always attentive to our members’ needs and promoting solutions that propel the industry forward.”
He continued, “His effective governance of the House has enabled us to face various challenges, from economic revitalization to sustainable energy policies. We are proud to endorse him, believing his ongoing service will keep Alabama’s economy flourishing and our businesses prospering.”
Ledbetter expressed gratitude for the backing from the organization, stating, “We are proud to have the support of the Alabama Petroleum and Convenience Marketers. Together, we’ve achieved a lot in enhancing our state’s energy independence and backing hardworking families in the convenience sector. We aim to continue this partnership for an even better future for Alabama.”
Thomas Russell, a P&CMA member and owner of Cedar Bluff Oil Company, commented, “I’m honored to support Chairman Ledbetter. The organization also recognized Alabama Senate President Pro Tempore Garlan Gudger (R-Cullman) for his role in advancing legislation beneficial to small businesses, promoting innovative practices, and enhancing the state’s economy.
Jones remarked, “Senator Gudger has fostered robust relationships with our members, prioritizing their needs and seeking effective solutions. His leadership as Senate Pro Tem has been crucial in implementing policies that assist our members and their communities.
