Peter Doocy Asks John Kirby Flat Out Why The Biden Admin Is Allowing Illegal Immigration

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked National Security Council spokesman John Kirby during a Tuesday press conference why the Biden administration is allowing immigrants to enter the country illegally.

Doocy referenced the Supreme Court's ruling Monday that federal authorities can remove razor wire installed by the state of Texas. Kirby defended removing the wires despite the risk of inviting more illegal immigration. (Related: Biden administration allows more than 3 million people to immigrate to US in 2023)

“Why make it easier for people to enter the country illegally?” Doocy asked.

“We're not,” Kirby replied.

Doocy then pointed to lawsuits surrounding border severing.

“Well, you guys filed a lawsuit to cut the razor wire that Texas officials put in place,” Doocy said.

“That means the Border Patrol can actually carry out its mission, but it can continue to operate,” Kirby said.

Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, said: criticized Doocy brought up the Biden administration's push to clear the border during his exchange with Kirby.

“Now that we've won in court, what do we do now?” Doocy said. “The president of the Border Patrol union says the Supreme Court's decision will definitely encourage more illegal immigration. Do you guys know more than the Border Patrol?”

“The Border Patrol needed access, and that's why we filed suit to have that razor wire removed so the Border Patrol could do its job,” Kirby responded. “So you know what else will help them do their jobs, Peter? More Border Patrol agents. I have an idea. Going back to the supplemental request we filed, about 1,300 more people. Funding is being put in place for Border Patrol agents. We want to support their work. We want to give them more resources, but we've heard back from House Republicans. The answer was no, no, no.”

Doocy then asked Kirby if he thought razor wire would work.

“What does razor wire do? Will it work to give Border Patrol the access they need to better handle people trying to cross the border?” Kirby he said. “I don't think so. That's why we asked for it to be removed.”

Illegal immigration has reached record levels under the Biden administration, with Border Patrol recording more than 2.2 million encounters with immigrants illegally crossing the southern border in fiscal year 2022 and more than 2 million in fiscal year 2023. ing. according to to federal data.

In December alone, Border Patrol encountered more than 300,000 people in a single month, the highest number ever. according to On Fox News.
