PETER ROFF: Team Biden Is Hoping Nobody Will Notice This Revelation From The Special Counsel Report

They say success in politics has a lot to do with timing. Campaigns can be created by tackling the right problem in the right way at the right time. Failure to do so may result in damage.

If that's true, Biden's re-electorate may have sent a fundraising email Thursday with the subject line “Do you remember how you felt?” while the president was denying his remarks in an impromptu press conference. ” button was pressed. People who have problems with mental acuity may want to start looking for another job.

If ever there was an example of bad timing, that's it. How can you read something like this and not think, “It's not a question of whether I remember?” What about Biden? ” That completely trampled the message.

Fortunately for Mr. Biden and his hopes for a second term, the late-night comedians who define political humor figured this out quickly enough to bring it into their monologues, even though there's nothing really funny about it. That didn't happen. (Related: JD FOSTER: Biden's Big Whopper)

Nevertheless, depending on what Special Counsel Robert Hur focused on; I have written Mr. Biden's memory loss, described in the report that he mishandled classified government files dating back to his time as vice president, misses the larger point in Mr. Hsu's explanation for why he will not be indicted. Ta.

Recall that the Biden Justice Department indicted former President Donald J. Trump on the same issue. Hoar explained that the reason the results were different is not only because Biden doesn't remember things, but also because Trump didn't cooperate with the investigation.

This pretty much blows the case out of the water. This just confirms that Trump was chosen to receive special treatment, as he claimed. The case against him is political and there's really nothing to look at, so it's fine for America to move on.

As a former president and a citizen, Mr. Trump has rights. You don't have to provide the government with all the documents they request. All departing chiefs begin negotiating what they can take with them on their departure. The rules are not clear at all.

They're obviously not supposed to take away the furniture that was there when they moved (one of the first couples these days apparently I missed that memo). As far as any document goes, the president and the National Archives usually have the time they need to decide who keeps what.

The former president was not afforded the same luxuries as his predecessor. His suggestion that the Biden Justice Department rushed the case to court to damage him politically now appears more likely.

equal justice under the law. That's what it says on the pediment of the United States Supreme Court building.

It may not be reality, and that's kind, but we still expect it. More importantly, when we as a people see the most important of American doctrines thrown aside, we tend to react with passion and energy.

If Biden did what Trump is accused of doing with classified materials – and Huh's report makes it pretty clear that he did – it would be difficult for the Justice Department to prosecute. Either it was a mistake not to move forward, or it was a mistake to indict Trump.

At least it's a more substantive discussion today than it was when the week started.
