TUCSON, Arizona (KGUN) – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred Wednesday night.
An investigation was launched and it was determined that a Ford Fusion driven by Jacqueline Kurkoski, 31, was driving eastward near Picture Rocks Road at 7:05 p.m. on May 17. and Golden Gate Road.
Kurkoski made a right turn at high speed, veered into the middle lane and collided head-on with a Hyundai Accent. The driver, Benjamin Brookhart, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in Kurkoski’s car was taken to hospital with minor injuries. Kurkoski was incarcerated in the Pima County Jail on a vehicular homicide charge and an outstanding warrant. Detectives from the Department of Transportation are still investigating.
