Pinal County point-in-time homeless count scheduled

In Pinal County, preparations are underway to count the number of homeless people at a specific point in time. The key to its success is the participating volunteers who count.

Count is an annual street count to determine the number of people experiencing homelessness in Pinal County at any given time. The numbers are part of a significant national effort to identify the extent of homelessness across the country, according to the release.

The count includes a simple survey to identify the needs of those experiencing homelessness in your community. The Pinal County Coalition to End Homelessness coordinates her point-in-time count each year with her Suzanne Payan of Community Action Human Resources as lead manager.

To achieve community goals and make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, LCEH needs to know who they are, where they are, and understand the factors that lead to homelessness.

Point-in-time counting will take place January 25-30. Training will be provided to all volunteers prior to counting. There, you’ll receive additional information and survey questions about your count, and assign volunteers to specific areas to count. Everyone must be trained to participate. The training will take place on Monday, January 23 at 9:00 am at the Casa Grande Police Facility at E. Val Vista Blvd. 373. at Casa Grande.

On the morning of the count day, volunteers go to a specific assigned area to interview people experiencing homelessness and complete a survey. To do.
