A man is in custody Tuesday morning after a secondary school in Pinal County was put on lockdown after a suspect fled police.
JO Combs Unified School District Tweet Officials said they received a call around 9:15 a.m. about a “potential threat” at Combs Middle School in Santa Valley. The school was put on lockdown as law enforcement arrived on the scene, and the suspect was taken into custody shortly after, the school district said.
According to a school district spokesperson, the man who had a valid warrant for him was a passenger in a car that was stopped by a Pinal County sheriff’s deputy and fled toward the middle school. A spokesperson said they were tracking a man believed to be doing so.
The lockdown came into effect after school officials “noticed suspicious activity,” a spokesperson said.
The school district has not identified a suspect.
The lockdown was lifted shortly before 10am and law enforcement cleared campuses to resume school activities. murmuredThe district added there were no threats to students or staff on campus.
