CNN's Scott Jennings slammed the network's hosts on Wednesday while discussing allegations that Trump campaign staff harassed Arlington National Cemetery officials during a tour.
Former President Donald Trump and his staff Attended On Monday, a ceremony was held to mark three years since the deaths of 13 service members killed outside Kabul International Airport during a botched Afghanistan withdrawal. Speaking on “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer,” Jennings responded to allegations of altercations and violence between Trump staff and cemetery officials and criticized President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' treatment of the families of Gold Star recipients.
“I don't know if that's true. I wasn't there. The Trump campaign is saying that's not true. I think we'll be looking into this more in the future. Frankly, the way Biden and Harris have treated these families and ignored and disrespected them after the most disastrous decisions they've made in the White House is the most despicable part of this to me,” Jennings said.
“There are a lot of opinions on this and everyone is commenting, but the only opinion I really care about is that of the family in question. As reported by JD Vance, they said, 'We have approved President Trump's official videographer and photographer to be in attendance,'” Jennings continued. “We will cherish this memory forever and are deeply grateful to the President for taking the time to honor our children and for being by our side in our grief.”
Jennings went on to point out that Trump has “devoted a lot more time” to military families than Biden or Harris. (RELATED: 'Morning Joe' panel accuses Trump of using Arlington National Cemetery as a 'political campaign tool')

“They made a long statement saying they couldn't be happier to have Donald Trump in Arlington. He's given them so much more than their time, and Joe Biden and Kamala Harris can't even do that,” Jennings said.
But the CNN host challenged Jennings, asking whether the Trump campaign should have “sought acknowledgement from the cemetery”. Jennings responded by calling it a “political garbage attack” and saying the families were “delighted” that Trump would attend the ceremony.
“You know what I'm thinking? Only people who are very cowardly about this would try to turn something positive, like Donald Trump spending time with Gold Star families, into a political attack, that's my view,” Jennings replied. “The only ones that matter are the Gold Star families. They invited Trump, he went, and they were happy he was there. If that's not good enough for the Democrats, I don't know what to say.”
After the visit, allegations emerged that cemetery officials had tried to prevent Trump staff from filming and taking photos in an area reserved for recent American casualties, an area where only cemetery employees are allowed to take photos. According to When officials tried to intervene, Trump staffers yelled abuse at them and shoved them away, they told NPR.
The Trump campaign has since denied the allegations, with campaign spokesman Steven Chang saying in a statement to NPR that a personal photographer was “authorized on the grounds.”
“We are prepared to make the footage public if such a defamation claim is made,” Chang said. “The facts are that a private cameraman was allowed on the premises and that for some reason, an anonymous individual who was clearly suffering from mental illness decided to physically disturb a member of President Trump's team in the middle of a very solemn ceremony.”
