Poll Shows Residents In Maine Want Transgender Athletes Out Of Female Sports

Well, this isn’t interesting…

a Opinion survey The release from the University of New Hampshire on Thursday shows that the majority of Maine residents don’t want to be transgender in women’s sports.

Polls come around at the same time The deadline from the Trump administration is to order Maine to comply with the president’s executive order, which prohibits trans athletes from competing with women in sports. Maine decided not to comply with the orders from Trump, resulting in the state’s “violation with Title IX” being referred to the Department of Justice by the Department of Health and Human Services’ Civil Rights Office. (Related: The WNBA celebrates the incredibly ridiculous “Transday” that I didn’t exist, and frankly, there’s no need to.)

Research shows that 64% of Maine residents believe that biological men “doubtly shouldn’t” or “probably shouldn’t.” Conversely, only 29% of the inhabitants of the “pine tree nation” believe that trans individuals should be allowed to “probably” or “undoubtedly” steal glory from women. Go to the diagram.

That being said, the majority are clearly on the side of common sense, so it’s time for Gov. Janet Mills to put her actions together and give people what they want.

I’m glad to see Maine people on the right side of history.
