Despite Boasberg’s order to halt flights, including returning two planes in the air, immigration officers allowed them to land in El Salvador and directed the third plane to take off.
BoasburgI wrote it “The actions of the government that day showed intentional disregard for the order and are sufficient to conclude that there may be a cause that could exist for the court to find the government in criminal contense.”
“The court does not reach such conclusions lightly or in a hurry. In fact, it gave the defendants a sufficient opportunity to correct or explain their actions. None of their reactions were satisfactory.”Confirmed Unanimously by the Senate.
