Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Community Notice
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has released a community notice following ARS 13-3825 regarding the Sex Offenders Act. This notice pertains to offenders residing in non-consolidated areas of Yavapai County. It’s the responsibility of the Chief Law Enforcement Agency to notify the community whenever a particular sex offender is either released from Arizona State Jail or returns to the community from a county jail. Offenders are classified into three levels based on their risk to the community: Level 1 (low risk), Level 2 (intermediate risk), and Level 3 (high risk).
In this notice, we highlight one individual: Chad Farwell, who is 47 years old. He has been convicted of a sex offense that warrants community notification, as advised by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. Farwell resides at 3233 W Sandstone Dr, Apulden, AZ 86334. Currently, he is not being actively sought by law enforcement.
Farwell was found guilty of sexual conduct with a minor and attempted child abuse in Yavapai County on March 10, 2011. He received a 15-year sentence with the Arizona Department of Corrections, with lifetime probation. The victim was a 13-year-old who was known to him.
This notification is not intended to instill fear; rather, the Sheriff’s Office believes that an informed community is a safer one. Misusing this information for intimidation or harassment of a sex offender will not be tolerated.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public about its sex offender registration and notification program available at www.ycsoaz.gov. This registry enables individuals to input a local address and receive a list of registered sex offenders within a mile of that address. It also offers information about specific offenders registered in Yavapai County. Additionally, a free email notification program informs subscribers about registered sex offenders located nearby.
