Prescott, Arizona (Az Family) – A former California sheriff’s aide was found guilty of arranging to meet young children for sex in northern Arizona.
Yabapai County prosecutors say ju judges charge that 68-year-old Jeffrey Joseph Yorke lured minors in sexually exploited and attempted two counts of sexual acts with minors. He says he discovered he committed.
“The adults who prey on children have no place in our community. The fact that Mr York was a retired law enforcement officer has led to the oath he once received and serving the community with distinction and honor; It’s a severe betrayal of many of the talented officers who ultimately put Mr York on trial,” Yavapai County Attorney Dennis McGrand said in a news release.
Authorities say York has retired from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office and was captured during a secret investigation in September 2023. During collaboration with the FBI Task Force, prosecutors say York tried to meet the 7-year-old boy and 11 others. – Girl of the year.

“I hope that the long prison sentences Mr York faces will send a clear message to sexual predators that they are not welcome in Yabapai County. If you try to abuse a child here, you will be my He will be arrested by the office and proactively charged,” McGrand said.
The verdict is set for February 28th in Yabapai County Superior Court. York faces up to 26 years and three months in prison.
