“Donald Trump is leaning toward immigration because it’s his strongest argument. Our poll shows that Harris is the better candidate when it comes to immigration and the border. We now have a 25-point lead,” Murray told “Morning Joe” panelist Kati Kaye. “And Donald Trump is playing straight to his strengths. When it comes to undecided voters, he’s the candidate — this was the case in 2016, and this is the case in 2020. –I don’t see him as someone who wants to be a moderate at all. I’m going to try to appeal to independent voters, Nikki Haley voters. And that goes right into his base. It helped him in 2016, it didn’t help him in 2020, and we’ll see what happens in 2024.”

Murray also noted that President Trump’s comments on immigration have not caused a major backlash among Hispanic voters. Trump gained significant support among Hispanic voters in polls, citing issues such as immigration and the economy, before President Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he would not seek re-election.
FOX News poll of Arizona voters released A September poll showed that Harris had a narrow 11-point lead among Hispanic voters, contributing to Trump’s 3-point lead in border states. According to CNN, Trump had a 25-point lead over Harris in March when it came to Hispanic voters’ approval of immigrants.
Harris has regained some support from Hispanic voters in polls since replacing Biden as the top Democratic candidate, but she still fell short of Biden’s numbers in the 2020 election.
“When we talk about immigration and specifically the Latino electorate, our deep research into the Latino electorate shows that Latinos are not a monolith, and ultimately there are conservative Latinos and liberal You see there are Latinos, there are liberal Latinos, there are people who live in California, there are people who live in Florida, they are very diverse,” Murray added. Ta. “But what happened is, do Latino voters want more enforcement and border enforcement, or do they want more of a path to legalization and a path to citizenship? So, we’re really divided on the DREAM Act. And you know, how divided we are as a country is how divided we are as a whole in the Latino community and the Latino electorate. It shows how divided we are.”
