sexual assault arrest

June 2, 2023 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials reported that on May 20, 2023 at 8:55 PM, agents from the Southwest Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the 44000 Sheriff’s Department. Block of sexual assault just happened on Temecula’s Pechanga Parkway. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and fled the scene. The Southwest Division Bureau of Investigation continues this investigation and has collected several leads from the community.

On June 1, 2023, sheriff’s deputies located the suspect in the Temecula Parkway and La Paz Road area. The suspect has been identified as Joseph Edward Labastida, 30, of Temecula. The suspect was arrested on a felony charge of sexual assault and detained at Coibad Detention Center. The investigation also revealed that Joseph Labastida was wanted by Mojave County, Arizona on sexual assault charges.
