Yavapai County
Yavapai County Mayor Maury Thompson announced today the promotion of Roger McCormick to Director of Public Works, effective Aug. 5, 2024.
McCormick has served Yavapai County since 2012, most recently as assistant public works director for eight and a half years.
Prior to joining the County, McCormick had extensive engineering site design and transportation experience in both the private and public sectors. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona.
County Administrator Maury Thompson said, “Roger's dedication and expertise have contributed greatly to the success of our Public Works Department. His promotion to division chief is well deserved and I am confident he will be able to lead the department and serve the community well.”
McCormick expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, “The County has many great projects to accomplish, and I am pleased to have the opportunity to continue serving Yavapai County, especially as part of the Public Works Department. Great things are accomplished by great teams of people. I am honored to be part of such a great team and look forward to continuing to provide great service to our citizens.”
