“Trump's real victory here comes down to the dates,” Turley told “Special Report” host Bret Baier. “You know, Special Counsel Smith's top priority was to get a trial before the election. He's running out of runway. If this opinion doesn't come out by June, even if Smith Even if they win, they will have to remember that power will revert to the district court and the district court will have to process all pretrial motions, which could take months.”
The Supreme Court has set oral arguments for the week of April 22nd, when the court will decide whether to apply the charges the Justice Department has applied to many of the people arrested and charged in the January 6, 2021 riot. The hearing will be heard. Parliament building. In August, Smith secured four charges against Trump in connection with the former president's efforts to contest the results of the 2020 election.
“They didn't make the stay great, but they made it effective or constructive by making it a topic of discussion,” Turley said. “Trump got what he wanted, but this case won't be heard until the end of April, and it's all bets on when a decision will be made after that. They could issue it before June. Obviously, there are judges here who want to talk a lot about this issue.”
