Santa Cruz County seeking person of interest in apparent stabbing death in Tubac

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — Update 01/30:

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office has identified a suspect in the Monday morning stabbing death of 28-year-old Adrian Lopez in Tubac.

SCCSO is urging anyone who knows or sees the suspect, Jorge Quijada, 32, to call 911. The department says he may be armed and dangerous and people should not approach him.

Kihada is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

The sheriff's office provided two photos of Yellowfin tuna.

A man was found dead in Tubac, Arizona, on Monday morning, apparently having been stabbed to death, according to a news release from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

According to SCCSO, officers found the victim, 28-year-old Adrian Lopez, after receiving a 911 call reporting a blood trail at 146 Bridge Road in Tubac just after 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 29. Officers who responded to the call found Lopez deceased near the scene from a stab or cut wound, according to a press release.

The release said an additional anonymous call came in reporting an altercation involving a machete. SCCSO said they are thoroughly searching the surrounding area looking for the “suspect.”
