NewsNation host Chris Cuomo slammed New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who took to social media to criticize Israel's use of exploding pagers to target Hezbollah terrorists.
On Tuesday, Israel carried out an operation targeting a senior Hezbollah official using a pager rigged with a plastic explosive, followed on Wednesday by the detonation of a walkie-talkie used by the Iran-backed Islamic terrorist group. Cuomo, who has been at odds with Ocasio-Cortez on social media, said: Criticism The head of Israel's operations said Friday night's broadcast had falsely accused Israel of “war crimes.” (Related article: 'It makes me question my party': Ex-Clinton pollster denounces DNC protests, criticizes Democrats for lacking 'bone-stock')
“she [Ocasio-Cortez] “She began by condemning Israel's actions against Hezbollah members in Beirut as war crimes, then called for an investigation, and then decided to uncover the truth and present her contention that the pager explosions were 'clearly' a violation of U.S. policy,” Cuomo said.
“'This attack clearly violates international humanitarian law and undermines U.S. efforts to prevent the escalation of the conflict,'” Cuomo continued, quoting the senator's post. “And she said it violates U.S. policy. Obviously. Israel is not part of the U.S. and is not subject to U.S. laws and rules. Secondly, if the senator is implying by that comparison that the U.S. should not support Israel, good luck with that. And what really bothers me about this attack is that she is flat out wrong. So you can't condemn and then pursue crimes.”

Cuomo then pointed out that Ocasio-Cortez had cited a statement from the Department of Defense. manual Regarding the laws of war, we have added additional information.
“Oddly enough, she omitted the section she cited: 'The use of mines, booby-traps and other devices is subject to the same rules and principles that govern the use of other weapons to carry out attacks,'” Cuomo read from the manual. “The rules include a prohibition on the indiscriminate use of mines, booby-traps and other devices. Indiscriminate. What does that mean? It means that all feasible precautions must be taken to prevent civilians from the effects of mines, booby-traps and other devices, taking into account all of the circumstances at the time, including humanitarian and military considerations.”
“The war manual also spells out examples of when booby traps are not prohibited. For example, improvising booby traps to slow down an enemy advance is not prohibited. What does that mean? It could mean a variety of things,” Cuomo said. “One of them is that a group of bloodthirsty terrorists is coming from you. So she didn't read that part because she's not a lawyer, or she wasn't thorough, or she didn't want to be intentionally fair? One is misconduct, which is not doing your job properly. The other is misconduct by deliberately doing it poorly.”
Cuomo also said: Reported He condemned the vandalism of Ocasio-Cortez's office, but she threat These include the attack on Florida Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna and the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. “The very same thing happened to her colleague Anna Paulina Luna and she said nothing, nor did she say anything about the assassination attempt against former President Trump,” Cuomo said. “What does that tell us? Clearly she doesn't respect her opponent as a person any more than she respects herself.”
